annavere, and thought it looked fun. I was pretty clear on what to use for the first four, but I struggled with which to put for five. Can't promise it wouldn't be something different next week, but that's not really a bad thing.
TV questions: pick your five favourite TV shows (in no particular order) and answer the following questions. Don’t cheat!
Oof, that's tough. For the main bunch, probably Finch, but Zoe Morgan and Elias are high on the list, as well.
Oh man don't do me like this. How am I supposed to pick that? It's tempting to pick Nate, since he's such a bastard, but he's such a great character. I guess probably Chaos? He only turns up a few times, but I tend to find him uninteresting at best and obnoxious at worst.
S3.E20, Sozin's Comet Part 3: Into the Inferno. This remains one of the best series finale episodes of any show I've ever seen.
Hard to choose between seasons 1 and 3. They're very different from each other, but both a lot of fun. If I have to narrow it down I'd probably go with 1, since I wouldn't have stuck with the show if I hadn't enjoyed it as much as I did.
If we're talking canon ships, Duncan and Tessa are wonderful. For non-canon. . . so hard to choose. There are so many potential ones that could be so much fun. After writing 100k words of Methos & Richie friendship, I do find that intriguing as a romantic ship, as well.
Finch/Reese. The most popular ship, naturally.
I think since the first season aired, so 2008? Don't remember for sure.
A friend of mine posted a gifset of a scene from Forgive Us Our Trespasses on tumblr. I didn't know a damn thing about Highlander before that, but I enjoy stuff with swords and I recognized Peter Wingfield from the gifset, so I got intrigued and went looking, and fell very hard.
Mako, as Uncle Iroh. Grey Griffin did an amazing job as Azula, too.
Leverage is by far my most rewatched of this selection, with good reason.
I mean, Highlander has more episodes in general, but I have probably rewatched Leverage more times. Kind of a toss-up, I guess?
Oh boy. Is some random background character in Ba Sing Se an option? Somebody really boring and secure in their daily life? I really wouldn't want to be any of the main cast.
Maybe June. She's cool, rides a giant animal, and doesn't suffer overmuch in the show.
D:
Going with Eliot here, probably playing human shield for one of the rest of the team.
"Oh, I didn't kill you. God killed you. I just made sure it took."
I. . . huh. I mean, I could make it work. I can see ways to make it pretty interesting. The implications of immortals in a setting in which powerful eternal spirits are a fact of life would be intriguing as hell. It would probably be pretty firmly in the realm of crack crossover, though.
Ponder
Hmm Tara and Maggie. They'd be a terror together.
I've written one bit of fic for this show, and it is a setting I wouldn't mind exploring further. Some seriously wacky worldbuilding there that could be fun to play with, some pretty entertaining characters, and some good fix-it and canon-divergent opportunities.
Oh boy. Well, they share Jim Byrnes and Peter Wingfield, so that's already points in the favor of both. That's hard, they both have some really, really strong cast members, and then a handful of much weaker ones. That's a really tough choice. I think Sanctuary might just barely take the lead at least partially on the strength of Christopher Heyerdahl's performances.
I gotta go with Avatar. The whole soundtrack is really excellent original music, the main theme is iconic, and The Last Agni Kai is a staggering enough piece of music to catapult this to the top of the list all on its own.

Date: 26 Nov 2024 19:15 (UTC)Leverage is also absolutely worth the time. It's such an excellent combination of very fun and very poignant, with a really, really excellent bunch of characters that get a chance to really develop. It's available on youtube and freevee.
So many good free shows. \o/
